`Self bondage is what got me into b d s m in the first place. It is open to endless creativity. You can tie yourself down with almost anything: shoelaces, ropes, straps. Wear a collar and tether yourself by it, to a pipe or a doorknob or whatever.
The only hard part is tying your own hands. Here's what I do: I secure one end of the tie-down, tie an adjustable slipknot in the other end, loosen it enough to fit my hand through, then pull my hand away, tightening the slipknot. I can use this to tie my hands above my head, just like in my profile picture -- it was taken during self-bondage. For more intensity, I can tie them to an overhead shower-curtain rod or closet bar, provided it is mounted in place and not one of the removable ones.
The question is, how much actual danger are you willing to tolerate? The only way to get out of one of these slipknots, is to use another hand to pull it loose. For safety, I always use ropes long enough that I can get one hand close enough to the other to do this. You have to do a certain amount of make-believe, pretending you can't escape.
Using the same slipknot principle, I have even figured out how to tie my own hands behind my back. Took years of experiments. The trick is to make a truss for the shoulders and chest, and the two ends of the rope have the slipknots.
With a blindfold, you can conjure up any setting or locale you want. I make up a narrative to explain why I am held captive and what is being done to me, and elaborating the details are part of the arousal.
